What is Biblical Hope?

Hope is knowing that the future is not empty, no matter how bleak it seems to you today. Unbelievers have no hope in the future, so they try to squeeze all they can out of the moment through entertainment, fun, and partying. Biblical hope is an assurance that God is our future. In this sense, hope is a vision of light piercing through the dark clouds of today. Hope is not simply a fairy dream or wishful thinking, it is empowered by a deep inner momentum given to us by the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is the downpayment of our future and eternal life in the kingdom of God.

(1 Corinthians 15:19) If we have hope in Christ only for this life, we are to be pitied more than all people.
