The Jesus of Islam

Christians are often surprised by the emphasis the Koran places on Mary and Jesus (especially Revelations 3 and 19).
1 – Jesus was born to the virgin Mary (Koran 3:45, 47; 19:20-22; 21:91; 66:12).
2 – Jesus is the gift of a pure/sinless son (Koran 19:19).
3 – Jesus spoke as an infant in the cradle (Koran 5:110; 19:29-33).
4 – Jesus had a powerful earthly ministry (Koran 2:87, 253), performed miracles (Koran 2:253; 5:112-115), healed the sick (Koran 3:49; 5:110), and raised the dead (Koran 3:49; 5:110; 3:55; 19:33-34)
5 – Jesus was not crucified (Koran 4:157).
6 – Jesus ascended to heaven (Koran 3:55; 4:158).
7 – Jesus’ deity is totally rejected (Koran 9:30).
8 – Jesus was just a prophet or messenger (Koran 4:171; 5:72; 19:30; 3:49; 6:85; 19:30; 57:27).
9 – Jesus is the Messiah (Koran 3:45; 4:171; 5:17; 5:72; 5:75).
10 – Jesus is the Word from God, the Gospel (Koran 3:45; 5:46; 5:110; 57:27).
11 – Jesus is the Spirit from God (Koran 4:171). Jesus was strengthened by the Holy Spirit (Koran 2:253). Jesus was supported by the Holy Spirit. (Koran 2:87; 5:110).
12 – Jesus is in the image of Adam (Koran 3:59).
13 – Jesus is a sign (Koran 3:49; 19:21; 21:91).
14 – Jesus is honored (Koran 3:45).
15 – Jesus is the servant of God (Koran 4:172; 19:30).
16 – Jesus will gather all people to himself (Koran 4:172).
17 – Jesus was given revelation from God (Koran 3:48; 5:110; 19:30-24).
18 – Jesus came with wisdom (Koran 5:110; 43:63).
19 – Jesus has the power to create (Koran 5:110).
20 – Jesus intercedes for us (Koran 6:70; 19:87; 43:86).
21 – Jesus’ disciples were Muslims (Koran 5:111).
22 – Jesus received his revelation of Islam in the form of a book, the Gospel (Koran 6:90; 5:46).
23 – Jesus is referred to as the ‘Word of Allah’ (Koran 4:171).
24 – Jesus foretold the coming of Muhammad (Koran 61:6).
25 – Jesus will be a witness against Jews and Christians on the day of resurrection (Koran 4:159).
26 – Jesus was a created human being, and a slave of Allah (Koran 4:172; 3:59).
27 – Jesus’ second coming will signal the coming of Allah’s judgment (Koran 43:61).
