Discover New Ways to Encourage One Another (Hebrews 10:19-25)

The phrase “encourage one another” means to “impart courage to one another.” It is not simply a pat on the back, it is a spiritual release of strength. As the Hebrews passage below tells us, we are to discover new ways—creative ways—to impart God’s strength to each other. During this time, a lot of our brothers and sisters are spiritually discouraged, lacking internal strength. You might not be feeling full of strength right now either. But remember, Jesus told us that faith the size of a mustard seed could move mountains. So, impart the courage you have—no matter how small—to someone today. It is through imparting spiritual courage to others, that God refills our own heart with his strength. Freely you have received, so freely give to others.

A New and Living Way (Hebrews 10:19-25) (19) My brothers and sisters, we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place in heaven by the blood of Jesus, (20) by a new and living way opened to us through the curtain of Christ’s body. (21) Because we have a great high priest over God’s house, (22) let us draw near to God with a sincere heart and with the full assurance that faith brings, having our hearts cleansed from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water. (23) Let us hold strong to the confession of our hope, for he who promised is faithful! (24) Let us discover new ways how to encourage one another toward love and good works, (25) not neglecting to meet together—as some believers have developed a habit of doing. Instead, build up one another! Do this all the more when you see the second coming of Jesus approaching.
